The origins
Serampang duabelas is a traditional dance that developed in the Malay Sultanate of Serdang. This dance was created by Sauti in the 1940s and re-composed by its composer between 1950-1960. Prior named Serampang Twelve, this dance called Dance Sari Island, according to the title of the song that accompanies the dance, the song Sari Island


ORIGINS OF DANCE
                Twelve Serampang dance is a traditional dance that developed in the Malay Sultanate of Serdang. This dance was created by Sauti in the 1940s and changed again by penciptannya between the years 1950-1960. before named Serampang Twelve, this dance is called the Dance Sari Island, according to the title of the song that accompanies the dance, the song Sari Island.
               
                This dance is a kind of traditional dance which is played as a social dance. There are at least two reasons why the name changed Serampang Dance Sari Island Twelve. First, the name is not appropriate because Pulau Sari upbeat dance (quick step). According to Tengku Mira Rays, the name of the dance that begins the word'' island'' usually upbeat rumba, such as Dance and Dance Kampai Island Princess Island. According to Tengku Mira Ray, dance is a result of the integration of motion between the Portuguese and Malay dances Serdang.
